It’s easy to be cynical about the myriad of different ‘Day’ designations during the year. It seems there is a day ‘Day’ for everything from Chocolate Cakes to Poetry. Some are flippant and some far less so, particularly the days promoted by UNESCO and the United Nations, for example. What may surprise people who don’t realise the importance of slumber is the fact that there is a World Sleep Day on 17th March 2017. This is no small event and #WorldSleepDay trended on Twitter for the 2016 day.
Whilst Comfomatic has no connection to, or makes no comment about the organisation that instigated World Sleep Day, we do share the view on the seriousness of sleep deprivation.
This Blog has posted references to many credible sources outlining the importance of a good night’s sleep, not just to help improve our general day to day functioning, but also the connections being reported to our longer-term health. Take a few moments to read some, the findings may surprise you.
The World Sleep Day website reports that, “The globe will unite for World Sleep Day® on March 17, 2017 to host activities incorporating the slogan, ‘Sleep Soundly, Nurture Life.’ “
Here at Comfomatic, we are not sure if we are meant to celebrate ‘World Sleep Day’, but we certainly support the message that sleep is a very important commodity and helps ‘Nurture Life’. Our company has helped thousands of people improve their sleep with our products. This is a fact we are rightly proud of and, as we grow, we intend to continually improve our range of beds, built to a very high standard in the UK.
